Some of the FOSS highlights of the month February:

Seems that for Debian "jessie" the default init system will be systemd(src)

Django, a highly popular Python web-framework has released 1.6.2 and more interesting, a second alpha of its 1.7 branch.(src)

A new release(3.1) of PyCharm has hit the mirrors, although not truly FOSS, they offer a community edition.(src)

Support for the good old PS/2 keyboard went modular since linux kernel 3.13, that can give you problems.

I thought the whole SystemD vs Upstart thing was still going strong in Debian. I guess I was wrong. Hooray for SystemD?

Well i dont have any preference over upstart vs. systemd, i am just glad that (it seems) we will have one init system to rule them all.

As a note, i made this post in early February and the idea was to add to it all month... But i forgot about it due to personal life getting in the way. Sorry for the lack of highlights, ill make sure i will not forget about March!
